The United States Military Academy at West Point is the nation's first military academy. The school prepares young women and men to become officers in the U.S. Army.

The academy features a Tudor architecture and is said to be haunted by ghosts wearing old uniforms. These ghost stories began to circulate in the early 1970s when cadets reported seeing apparitions in antiquated school uniforms. This all was said to take place in room 4714, a room that is no longer in use.

Some other eerie tales that surround the academy include the ghost of Molly, the ghost of former superintendent Colonel Thayer’s Irish maid. Her spirit is rumored to haunt the basement of Quarters 100, shuffling the bedcovers in an otherwise orderly room, and borrowing and moving guests’ possessions.
