Oswego Harbor West Pierhead Lighthouse is, as the name implies, an active lighthouse off the coast of Oswego. It was built in 1934 to replace a previous lighthouse constructed half a century prior. Local legend holds that the area around the lighthouse has been haunted since 1942, when six members of the lighthouse crew were in a boat that collided with a breakwall. The crew drowned, and now their spirits manifest as flickering lights on the water.
