One if by Land, Two if by Sea is a restaurant located between 7th Ave South and W 4th Street. It was also the former site of a carriage house and owned by Vice President Aaron Burr. The restaurant is said to be haunted by 20 ghosts, including Burr’s daughter, Theodosia, who has appeared to guests in the mezzanine. Other ghostly happenings include the random sound of glasses clinking in empty rooms, and several women in the late 1990s reported having a single earing mysteriously vanish while in the building.
