Despite its name, the Old Ulster County Jail isn’t actually particularly ancient. Built in 1971, the facility was used for a few decades before a new jail was opened in 2007. The Old Jail was abandoned, and since then rumors of ghostly activity have swirled. Visitors have heard disembodied footsteps as well as strange voices having conversations, and there are reports of cell doors opening and closing on their own. Several inmates were allegedly murdered within the jail while it was still open, which could explain why it is now haunted.

There is a very particular sound that you would hear if the place was haunted .... The Cheap plastic coffee mugs were quite amusing if you wanted to have a laugh at every one else's expense in the middle of the night ... Either you were there and already know the sound and how it was made , or you don't .. But if you happened to hear it on a ghost hunt , well I imagine you would need clean pants at the least lol .... The poor rating is due to it's accommodations in the 90s lol
