The Old Morton Salt Plant was once an active salt mine, but has closed down and been left abandoned. Rumor has it that several cave-ins occurred before the mine was closed, and that several workers lost their lives in each one. Locals say that the spirits of those who died in the mines still linger here; there are even reports of phantom mine cars still travelling through the plant.
