Alfred University was founded in 1836 as a small college and has since expanded both its curriculum and campus. One of its buildings, The Brick, was used as an infirmary during the Civil War and is today rumored to be haunted by a soldier who walks its hallways. A female apparition can sometimes be seen in the CDC, and a young boy manifests on the second floor of Herrick Library.
